Boxes of fun for your little ones!

WHO IS THE BOX FOR?

This dog themed box has been designed with the busy parent in mind. For those parents who know a bit about dogs but don’t necessarily have the time or passion to sit down and chat about them for hours as the child would like!

  • ‘Doggy mad’ children aged around     4 – 11 years of age.

  • Families with a dog - help to strengthen their bond and love for one another.

  • Families without a dog! - Children will learn lots even if you aren't in a position to have a dog.

  • Families considering owning a dog - especially to gain more understanding.

  • Those who have difficulty getting to the post office –  the boxes fit through a letterbox!

  • Children who would benefit from extra learning – both about dogs and otherwise.

  • Also a great gift idea for children - an ideal birthday present!

YOUR

CHILD'S

LEARNING

Although our monthly boxes are aimed to be fun for your child, there are many other great benefits of the box too. We have looked to incorporate KS1 and KS2 learning elements into each month to help develop your child's education (without them even realising!)

Here are some of the areas you can expect to be covered with a My Pet Dog and Me subscription:

Fine motor skills

All of the crafts require some element of cutting, gluing or folding.

This helps to develop your child's fine motor skills.

Writing

There are sections for the child to write down their thoughts and observations.

We also encourage children to send us their written doggy stories.

Problem solving

We will include some statements which could be true or false.

Children need to read through the information to find the right answer.

Creativity

The arts and crafts encourage creative thinking as well as creative writing competitions where children need to use their imaginations.

Hand/Eye co-ordination

The inclusion of art and crafts style activities.

Reading

There are stories, articles and information cards for children to read.

They can do this alone, reading to an adult or better still - to a dog!

Counting

Numbers are regularly featured as part of the dog card games as well as the games, articles and info cards.

Increased vocabulary

We have included ‘Wow words’ in our newspaper and info cards. These will help to enhance your child's vocabulary and learn new words each month.

Safety around dogs

Educating children with how to behave around not only their dog,

but all dogs, is a vital skill to ensure their safety.

Food &  Fun!

Each month your dog gets a treat, toy or accessory to enjoy. Your child will enjoy treating your dog to a gift. If you don't have a dog, why not offer it to a friend or family member's dog.

We know that the bond between children and dogs can be magical. Help your dog to feel comfortable with their favourite little person (or people)!
